RECENT NEWS
Henok won the AOCS 2017 Processing Division Student Excellence Award. Congratulations Henok!                        Ali won the 1st place at the IFT16 Carbohydrate Division Graduate Student Research Paper Competition. Congratulations Ali!    Jessica completed her M.S. and staying with us for her Ph.D. Congratulations Jessica!                      Dr. Ciftci co-chaired the Interfacial Phenomena in Complex Food Systems and delivered a talk at the 2017 AOCS held in Orlando, FL.

Research in the Ciftci Lab is focused on developing novel green approaches to enhancing the health benefits and quality of the food lipids. To achieve this, we are using approaches based on nanoscale science and engineering, and supercritical fluid technology. We are also interested in the fundamentals associated with the novel process development.
Our research is focused on two key areas:
    • Lipid particle formation
    • Green extraction of bioactive lipids

Recent Publications
Henok's paper has been published in the Journal of the American Oil Chemists’ Society. Ali's paper has been published in the Journal of Food Engineering. Jessica's paper has been published in the Food Chemistry
